Makati City, Philippines (November 12, 2013) – Infinit-O’s Vice President for Healthcare Information Management (HIM) and Client Support Services, Jeffrey De Jesus, speaks as one of the panelists at HIMOAP’s 4th Healthcare Information Management Outsourcing Services Congress (HIMOSC 2013). The all-day assembly is held at the InterContinental Hotel, Makati City – where last year’s event also took place. Backed by HIMOSC 2013’s theme of propelling HIM to exponential growth, Jeffrey De Jesus exclusively sits for the event’s initial topic called Harnessing Opportunities in Healthcare Policies.
Department of Health (DOH) Undersecretary Hon. Teodoro Herbosa and HCCA Health Connections Vice President for PH Operations Michael Burbach join Jeffrey De Jesus in the panel while discussing queries about several regulations and laws related to the global healthcare industry, specifically about Obamacare. De Jesus states, “It opens a new horizon of opportunities. There are US companies that are looking for services that don’t yet exist.”
Other key points that De Jesus contributed during the panel discussion include the aptitude of the Philippines’ HIM industry to meet 100,000 full-time employees (FTEs) and $1 billion revenues by 2016. “Both are doable as long as we have proper information, formation, transformation, and education. The Philippines has to become an ideal place for HIM. We have to help people understand that there’s a job opportunity here,” De Jesus adds.
Further topics from the whole event include talent development and retention, innovation and best practices, accessible healthcare, and the future of HIM.
